At the Rock Yard we find many people are unsure about quantities for their projects. There are simple formulas to use when working this out. Take this play sand pit for instance.

Length X Width = 6m²

Take the area (6m²) and multiply that by the depth (0.200mm)

3m length X 2m width X 0.200 depth
3 X 2 X 0.2 = 1.2m³

This sandpit requires 1.2m³ cubic metres to fill.
